Relive the age with Pensacola
The city of Pensacola is rich in history. European settlers
first established a colony here in 1559 some six years before
St. Augustine, which is believed to be the oldest settlement
in the country.
Pensacola and nearby Pensacola Beach are the astounding places
to unwind from all tensions and problems of life. The relaxed,
low-key area is a delight for those looking to slow their hurried
pace for a while. Located at the west end of the Florida panhandle,
the area is best known for its miles of pristine snow-white
beaches and splashing waves. Sand dunes decorated with delicate
sea oats accent the coast. With unending beaches, it is easy
to find a secluded spot away from it all, which is hard to locate
anywhere else.
Drug Situation
Methamphetamine
Investigations conducted in Pensacola indicate that out-of state
methamphetamine manufacturers seek precursor chemicals in northwest
Florida. Methamphetamine produced in super labs from Texas and
California transits the area along the Interstate-10 corridor.
The abuse of crystal methamphetamine is also a problem.
Marijuana
Marijuana, both domestically grown and imported, is available
throughout the Florida and Pensacola is also not spared. Domestic
indoor cultivation of Marijuana is a significant industry throughout
Pensacola. The city, being a tourist spot, offers good quality
of Marijuana to the residents as well as tourists apart from
sprawling beaches and soothing climate.
Drug Effects
Research shows there is a tremendous increase in drug use by
adolescents in the past 10 years. Drugs have spoiled the health
of the youth ultimately hampering the overall development of
the country. Apart from addiction, which itself is a harmful
effect, long-term abuse of methamphetamine, marijuana and other
illicit drugs may result in many damaging effects, including
physical and psychological harm.
